Paul, being a beginner with TNA usually requires jumping through many hoops to proove that you are actually worthy of being a novice birder. You have to realize that you will be rubbing elbows with many high brow personalities, whom as I've seen it, you could really rub the wrong way. But as the old saying goes, "Time is natures way of keeping everything from happening at once" really comes into play when learning from such an educated circle of enthusiasts.
You will certainly find many cordial people on the field trips, but you'll certainly be corrected and perhaps snubbed in the future by those with less than congenial social graces. Please do enjoy the wonders of nature as well as all of the fine insight that you will acquire from TNA. Eventually you will come into your own and you too shall offer your gracious birding knowledge to the enthusiastic neophyte.
