Gentlemen; The Cantabs received seven first place votes and have two experienced signal callers. Our Blue received six first place votes and have no experienced signal callers. In a league driven by quality signal callers the predictions are interesting.

16 media members who cover the League. Your question is a good one. I wonder how much these folks are aware of every material roster change that will occur this fall.

Regularly over the past several years Yale starts slow in September, struggles in October and kicks into high gear in November. Even though they lost a significant player in Nolan Grooms I’m predicting that Yale and Princeton will split the championship and I have Princeton beating Yale.

This infallible poll (winners repeat) also tell us the season "kicks off Saturday, Sept. 23."

The Dartmouth voters are BGA's Bruce Wood and Wayne Young, who played at Dartmouth in the 70s and has been doing radio for the last two decades or so. Both would be well informed.

Quakers solve the turnover bug and we will be there. We were far too generous last year.

Go Quakers!!!

Just a note on Columbia:

On defense they need to replace 2 starting db’s but other than that the entire 2-deep from last year returns

On offense - 4 oline returning starters, with heavy playtime at all skill positions returning as well. Obvious wildcard being QB

Now thequestion is Just how talented are all these returning players? Will be fun to see.

This smells like "take last year's standings and resubmit."
Harvard, Dartmouth and Penn should be the top 3, the obvious wild card there being Harvard's new coach.
Yale lost MVP QB, many of the starting WR's (Mason Tipton excelling in NO Saints camp, BTW), stud D-lineman Larry transferred, LB corps depleted, secondary is young.

My take, after last season (granted, not informed by transfers or 5th year returnees) --
Top two: Harvard, Dartmouth
close behind in 3rd: Penn
4 thru 6, any order: Yale, Brown, and Princeton
7&8: Columbia and Cornell, with potential for surprising the rest, depending on how their new coaches ramp up.

I expect some surprises to emerge from Surace. Princeton seems to do its best when least respected

Would that it were otherwise, but I fear that Voy Vey has stuck his landing as far as Yale's concerned. Not sure if any of our QB candidates has taken a single snap, and this year's senior class is much inferior to the recent ones.

... that Dartmouth has outperformed its pre-season ranking 12 times in the last 14 years.

Crimson return a load of ball carriers including 3 of top 16 in conference in rushing yards (McLaughlin (#2), DePrima (#8) Craig (#16). Isaih Abbey and Xaviah Bascon also return. Abbey is a 225 lb beast who ran over a large Howard defense for 120 yards and 3 TD's but barely played otherwise.

Unfortunately, Harvard's QB's weren't as stellar throwing the ball, but maybe with another year of experience they'll improve. Also, looks like a few top OL guys have moved onwards (and in some instances upwards).

Harvard's defense wasn't as strong as it has been in the past. A lot interceptions and big plays, but otherwise middle of the pack.

The talent is there to control the game by running the football, but Harvard is going to have to take advantage when opponents stack the line on defense. Should be another competitive year.

Agreed on the importance of the running game in this league.
Question - Who is the most recent Ivy League running back to rush for 1,000 yards or more in a season? The last time Cornell, which I realize has been a bottom feeder in the Ivy League reached that mark was in 2005.

Without “cheating “ by looking at the stats I’m guessing Harvard’s Aidan Bourget. Phil Steele magazine once listed Princeton QB John Lovett top 100 QB and RB! If that counts then he’s also my guess.
