Subject: Ivy League Golf - why are so many clubs not friendly"

My wife and I joined a nice golf club soon after we were married and it's been great for our kids too. Our club has a very good junior program that has sent a bunch of players off to the NCAA level, including many in the Ivy League. Two of my three kids are pretty good too with one of them a single handicap player.

Granted, I started playing too late in life and have never been able to devote much time to golf due to my work and family schedule.

Since joining the club over 20 years ago it's been a love-hate relationship in that I love the facilities at the club but why are many golfers so rude? I don't remember having coaches and teammates be as rude and unfriendly as many golfers. I wonder if other Ivy League competitive golfers have experienced the same thing. Granted I am a higher handicap player usually shooting in the 90's. I was recently scolded by some golfers who almost ran me over with their cart for playing too slow, but I like to walk the course and my goal is to finish in three hours. I was on pace that evening to play 18 holes in three hours. I got in a little hot water at the club as I told those two golfers in the cart to move their A...... out of there or I was going to send them both to the ER. I probably shouldn't have gotten in their grill but I am just sick of the attitude in golf. Probably just in the NY Metro area like everything else.
