Great game and true team victory. Penn State shut down Cornell National Player of the Year CJ Kirst, the nation's leading goal scorer and point producer, who was kept off the scoreboard for the first time in 66 collegiate games. Penn State put two defenders on Kirst most of the time, which opened it for his Cornell teammates to generate higher quality shots on goal.

The key to the game was the five unanswered Cornell goals over a span of 6:40 during the third quarter that transformed a 6-5 lead for Penn State into a 10-6 Cornell lead. Penn State rallied with 3 straight goal to close it to 10-9 before Cornell added another goal to win 11-9.

Good luck in the Finals!

Good luck to Cornell vs. Maryland, juggernaut offense against a dominant defense.

UMD brutalization of Cuse (8-2 at the half, cruising to 14-8) was a real eye-opener.

It certainly surprised me. The title game may closer than I have been expecting. IMO Cornell has better athletes, but (and no slight intended to Buczek) UM has best coach in the sport.

Penn State was keying on CJ Kirst the entire game, but other Cornell players really stepped up. A rematch with Maryland in the title game, but agreed the Terps looked really good yesterday vs. Syracuse. That's why we play the games. Go Big Red!
