Of the five women who were finalists for the Division I female Tewaaraton trophy, three --- count 'em, three -- played for the same high school program.

Darien high school, alma mater of Princeton men's head coach Matt Madalon and Holtsledge's kids.

60% of the five best women college lacrosse players, including the winner Chloe Humphrey, came from the same town of 20,000 residents.

How many **colleges** have ever had even one Tewaaraton trophy finalist? Maybe 25-30? One high school had three this year.

Darien's arch rival New Canaan isn't doing too badly, either. They've had two finalists, including one from the Ivy League, Princeton's Olivia Hompe.

This Saturday, Darien and New Canaan high school girls will meet for the third straight year for the Connecticut Class L championship. This afternoon, Darien and New Canaan boys will meet in their own Class L showdown.
