Penn hired Taylor Wray, the former head coach at St Joe’s. The consensus seems to be that Penn got the guy at the top of their wish list.

I did see that a 2026 commit did flip to Harvard recently. He looks pretty good (4*, ranked # 100 in the class by Inside Lacrosse. Not sure if this was a reaction to the Murphy dismissal. Lacrosse commit flips are not that unusual.

Looks like a solid hire. After Tierney, Princeton hired the HC at Drexel, a former Dartmouth player, Bates. So it seems to me Philly college lax is a pretty good deal, not necessarily Baltimore/College Park, but pretty good. I think Bates was a good, although following Tierney, who had spoiled the P lax community with his success, was apparently no picnic for him. And then he made one momentary mistake when he elbowed a Cornell player coming off the field and HR let him go. Now a HC in the professional league.

FYI it was a Brown player. There was more to the story but Bates clearly crossed a line.

Wray had impressive results at St.Joseph.

Overall IL coaches are a strong group.
