They have done a pretty good job of mis predicting. They got 4 of the last 5 P titles wrong, as just 4 examples among others. In fairness, these preseason polls are limited exercises. There writers do not even have the fall rosters yet in an era of roster uncertainty.

I think we all agree that it would greatly benefit our conference if our FCS playoff representative regularly made a deep run into December.

That's why I am recommending the following:

On the many occasions when the Ivies have a two- or three-way titleist, we send to the FCS playoffs an *ALL-STAR* team composed of the best players from the two or three co-champions.

Can you imagine how good we would be with a four-way co-championship (a real possibility in two of the last three seasons)? This is GG's dream scenario!

Most of America cannot name *ANY* Ivy League university. They'll never know the difference if our FCS representative is composed of Yale and Princeton players. The average American thinks, "Yale? Princeton? What's the difference?"

All star teams usually underperform relative to a single institution's team that has a season of playing together. Who would coach? What offensive and defensive systems would be employed? Most players would find it challenging to master the system in the couple of weeks before playoffs start.

I'm rooting for the classic ivy fairness principle to apply. Maybe have one team play the first half and another the second half.

BTW, what is the difference between Princeton and Yale?

Most Americans *CAN* name an Ivy university. They just don't have positive feelings towards them.

Now if you said most Americans don't *know anyone who attended* an Ivy school, that would probably be correct.

That two rising Ivy seniors have chosen to transfer to the University of Florida to play sports before getting their undergraduate degrees should speak clear volumes about what the court of public opinion is about our 8 schools right now.
