Three seeds went down this weekend: #4 Richmond (lost to Duke), #5 UVA (Georgetown) and #7 Cornell (to Hopkins). The Cavs’ loss means that no team will need to face them on their home field during the Final Four weekend.

Princeton is a much different team than the one that emerged from the 1Q of their opener down 1-7 against Penn State. PSU is also not the same team and their rematch should be an intense affair.

I thought Tigers played fine yesterday. Understandable they may have had less fire yesterday than last weekend. I don't read much into not running up a big score like Notre Dame did, lots of depth players saw action, but now is the time to refocus. Marist may not be a realistic championship contender but neither are they a bottom feeding team as some fans seem to think. PSU has been a jeckyll and hyde team, but when playing well they are a real test. Little things like not trying to unnecessarily run through double and triple teams on offense instead of passing early will be important.

Like everyone I was surprised by Cornell's loss to a decent but not great Hopkins team. Perhaps they were just drained emotionally from a tough ILT. Yale's loss was not surprising given the opponent and circumstances but I thought they were gritty and generally played well, other than an uncharacteristic lapse in the second half at goal. Would have been fun to see the Dome's reaction had Yale managed to pull off a very unlikely rally in the final minute and they came so close.
