Thanks for the kind words Ted. Your example did not cross my mind when writing that article, but it does bring up a new wrinkle.

This year, LPNC had the luxury of nominating in convention. Meaning, if we had decided to leave a race open, no one could surprise us by filing through some other means.

In 2004, we have primaries again. Meaning, we have to be ready to file candidates for any office to head off some yahoo that just happens to be a registered Libertarian and has the bucks for the filing fee. That will be tricky, but it will be less tricky if we are ready for it.

However, overall I think you guys in Idaho came out way ahead this election. You'll eventually be able to live down your candidate for Governor, but you can build on the publicity and success generated by your record slate on the rest of the ticket.

I'm very proud of the Idaho LP. Y'all showed significant national leadership this year, proving that even the less populated states can show everybody else how it's supposed to be done. Keep up the great work!
