JohnE,

The arguments on this topic can never be settled here because some will argue based on faith, some will argue based on science and others still will argue out of pure ignorance. To say that Christians are bigots will always incite anger and lead to discussions based on heated emotion rather than cool headed debate.

You may have been indoctrinated to recite the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star Spangled Banner, but yet you are a Libertarian today. I too feel that our government is wrong when it as policy recognizes a particular religion and incorperates it into oaths and pledges etc. But I do believe that faith in a higher power, and I recognize Christ as that higher power, is essential part of my life and I am sure that this is so for many other Christians as well.

As a Libertarian you should realize that if someone looks at you with disdain and rejects you because you have claimed yourself to be a devil worshiper you should accept their right to do that and you should expect that kind of response anyway to your anti-social antics, even from atheists.

If there is such a rash of Christian Evangelists hounding you to convert to Christianity then maybe you need to start hanging out in a different part of town. If you don't want them trying to convert you then you should tell them to get the hell away from you.

Lastly to argue about someones faith, armed with facts is a fruitless enterprise at best. So you shouldn't be surprised if someone attacks your arguments armed with their facts and cannot convince you. Don't you see that this is and will remain a pointless topic? Who can win this argument?
Neither side can provide enough facts or faith to convince or convert.
