Subject: A sea-steader's essential reference library?

Hi,

I was reading through Sea-Steading, and on page 114 it mentions an appendix containing a listing of useful books. But there doesn't seem to actually be such an appendix in the book?

So, I'm wondering what have you all found to be essential reference books to have on board? I'm looking for both a list of general subjects which should be covered (e.g. weather, sailing, navigation, boat maintenance/repair, first aid/medical, etc.) as well as specific recommendations for the best books you've found for each subject.

Also, any recommendations for good books for a novice sea-steader to read, even if they don't make the "essential to have on board" cut?

I realize this might vary quite a bit depending on region, type of vessel, gear on board, skill level, and so on. But what would be a good core library for someone just getting started?

Thanks,

--Matt
