Ah yeah, what a great topic!

I would vote for:

- anything and everything by the Pardey's. They're out there doing it. And as a married couple who haven't killed each other yet in decades of sailing.

- Sailmaker's Apprentice & Rigger's Apprentice (Brian Toss and some other guy)

- Rand Reef and Steer by Cuncliffe

- anything by Moitessier. he's so crazy and French.

- Ashley's Knots

So many good books out there... can't think of 'em all but they'll come to me.

Actually, started reading all the Patrick O'Brien books. All the naval battle poncery is great. But hidden in there is actually a lot of practical sailing advice. They're always catching the dying land breezes of the early evening to make their offing and such like.
