Subject: OarClub and SeaSteader websites

Hey Jay (or anyone else who might be able to answer),

I just read your Sea Steading book - loved it! I'm not much of a sailer right now, but I've been slowly rearranging my life for a "Sea Steading" lifestyle for the last 6 months now (before I even heard of your book). I agree with just about everything you have to say. (You actually come across as quite the Buddhist yourself... philosophically anyway.)

Anyway... I have to wonder why your OarClub and SeaSteading websites are composed of pages that are just giant images (or a few smaller images)? I'm a web developer by trade and can list off so many reasons why that's such a bad idea. The most important being: Search engines will NEVER list your site as they can't "read" text that's in an image - so they don't know what your site is about.

I saw an older post of yours wishing to be able to promote your sites more but saying it costs so much - but you could have tons of free promotion through Google if your pages contained regular text rather than giant images of text.

(Plus it would be so much easier to edit the text down the road.)

All your pages should be more like this one: http://www.seasteading.com/index_files/Page358.htm

Sorry if I'm over-stepping... :)

Greg
