Yeah, Olson 30 definitely wouldn't be the most comfortable liveaboard.

My point mostly was just that lots of boats are selling cheap with the CFC "current financial crisis" (digression: actually something much deeper, but whatever, that's what people are calling it -- it will end up getting called something else, just like "the Great War" sounded dumb after 1939 and got changed to WWI).

I guess it depends how you live and where you live.

Macha is a brick-shithouse style Ark. Couldn't ask for a more comfortable, liveable boat. On the other hand, for coastal/estuary sailing, if you're looking for a cheap "vehicle" rather than a home, the current economic shitstorm means there are all kinds of bargainns on cheap/small/fast sailboats. These are the boats owned by the "former middle class", so it makes sense the prices on these are coming down first.

I expect more bigger boats to come down in price next, as the "former upper-middle-class" can't make payments. I bet those boats will require some retro-fitting to convert them from cocktail cruisers into liveable boats.
