It's funny but on my blog the subject that always gets the most angry emails is whenever I mention that a lot of people on boats just might consider honing their sailing skills a tad by using the engine less. It never ceases to amaze us how on a great day with fifteen knots of wind on the beam and calm seas just how few people sail between places in the Caribbean even with fuel going through the roof.

Just for the record we installed an electric motor about six years back which we hardly ever use and never ever make passages under power.
