A few things...
You didn't mention the reason(s) you wanted to change... and which type your boat currently uses.

However, keep in mind that the keel-stepped rigs (especially in modern boats) are designed so that you can change/tune mast bend for different conditions. Sails will also be designed based on the adjustability (or not) of the mast bend.

My point is that the number and arrangement of shrouds are likely established taking into account the anticipated tuning of the mast. So, changing from one type to another may require more considerations than just adding a compression post, a mast base on the cabin/deck, and shortening the mast to fit. You may need to move/add chain-plates, etc.

So, if there's nothing 'wrong' with your boat, what is motivating you to make a change?
