Subject: Mast Step

Well the motaviation is to beef up the area beneith the mast, as for moving the mast and sitting it on keel, well that was more to do with the fact that it is a preferance of mine which is difficult to find in a production 26ft boat. However I do appricate it would require a lot of work. So probably out of the question.

I will try to rephrase the question better. Do you think that there is anything inherently wrong ocean cruising a boat with a decked stepped mast without serious support benieth (more than bulkheads) There are some people that wouldnt consider taking boat with a deck stepped mast ocean cruising full stop thats all.(it has nothing to do with rig tuning)

Im in the dont fix it if it aint broke camp also, but Im also in the if you can make somthing better then do it. camp
Just fishing for your thoughts preferences ideas. Sorry if it sounded like a dumb question. Contessa 26.

Best Rgds
Richard
