Perfect, thats what I was after. Thanks. I will stop getting all worked up about as well, however and I do hear you.(I will leave it alone) (QN) does anyone have any strong feelings either way on well built production sub 30ft boat about the ultimate strength (saftey?) of a keel or deck stepped arangement. Performance (v important) aside. would you rather loose the lot or a bit and part of the cabin roof potentialy. Do you think by the time it gets to that stage its academic.? I hear what you say about different engineering strengths but its also true that its not always the case because they hav'nt been properly enginerred, loads hav'nt been properly taken into account, the intrusion into the cabin has been the driving factor?. e.g early vancouvers and the morris 26/Francis got there masts moved topside.

Just curious if im on my own and uneducated with the keel stepped thing or is it potential a saftey feature? Or wether this is a dogshit subject and needs put to bed?

Best Rgds & thks for the input (excuse my spelling)
