There's a lot to be learned by a course like this.

First, if you didn't show, it means you learned nothing. And next year, that attitude you won't be any better of a sailor that you were this year.

Secondly, if you run the race, you learn the geographical marks are utterly different than goofy yellow buoys in the bay, as judgment matters a great deal. So much, that waterline, displacement, and that new suit of mylar doesn't much.

Lastly, that if you know your shit, your times and passages are MARKEDLY more efficient--by so much that it almost seems magical and impossible. What it is all about is not making any errors, as they cost a great deal, so much that you don't finish at all.
