I think the point to assert here is:

A rig must match a boat, and the underbody of a a boat. You must put high aspect rigs on high aspect bottoms and low aspect rigs on low aspect bottoms or you create a real mess.

A junk rig may well be able to be built economically, but tearing a perfectly workable rig out of a boat, and redoing the whole thing with an idea that one will save money is hard to accept.

If one thinks that a simple sloop rig on a boat under 30 feet overall is too much work to sail, maybe other pastimes are in order!

If you just WANT to sail a junk rig because you think it is cool, none of this applies. But that doesn't need to make sense.
