Subject: New Quota System Questionable

The new Quota System is going to allow a Guest Permit. So I can take someone hunting with me if I am drawn for a Quota hunt. This person and I have to share the bag limit, therefore keeping the harvest numbers in the range allowable by the FWC biologists who set the quota limit in the first place.

First thing we find out though is the FWC now wants to cut back on the number of quota permits allowed because of this Guest Permit. My question is WHY??? Some say 2 pairs of eyes and 2 guns equal greater hunter success. Even so that is the amount of quotas allowable, accounting for no-shows. I say more hunters in the woods the worse the opportunity to take a deer unless they're driving them to ya. Stomping about like dogs.

I disagree with the cutting back of quota limits until some sort of data is accumulated from the new system. Not enough hunting opportunities is the problem now. The FWC will probably try to say we have given you the opportunity to double the amount of people in the woods. Well.....yes and all the while trying to cut back the harvest before you have any data requiring a cut back on quotas!
