((No doubt he would have been horrendously picky about where his horses had gone -I'm going with the scenario that he emptied his stables and went back home for a year or so before deciding he had to come back- but shall we say whoever he sold the lot to turned around and sold them off into shameful conditions? Rather than start all over with the pretense that he and the horses do not know one another, let's just say he stumbles across his old friends here. If you then wish to re-create Tainted somehow, we could play that out the same -he finds her somewhere. Saint Patricio, he would be content to see him go to Neerah's place, knowing he would be well-cared for there. Sound good? I'll leave it up to you whether you care to change Digger's stats. It would be nice to have two young horses to keep each other company, so I've got no complaints if you wish to keep King and Digger exactly as you've got them.))

He had to quit doing this. Landing himself in the paradise that scrolled by through his pick-up windows, only to up and away back home, later to return here... The cycle was getting old. And inevitably, he always returned to this corner of heaven on earth anyway, a trend he ought to keep in mind the next time life requested he catch a plane to far-away places. Perhaps... just perhaps... he was home this time to stay...

And ah! There was the old sale grounds! Many a fine treasure on four legs had he found there in the past! Well... it couldn't hurt anything to stop and look, even if he had intended to head straight back to the Manor with the few supplies he had run in to purchase in town to make the place inhabitable again. But what the hey! It was still a nice day out, even if a little chilly, and he didn't have any overwhelming responsibilities to rush home to... Such is the life of a life-long bachelor. A beautiful thing, it was!

Turning the truck and trailer into the sale grounds, he pulled the vehicle to a halt at the edge of the lot, casting a glance around the familiar haunt and deciding it was still plenty safe to leave the keys tossed in the drink holder. Some places are still like that. And even though he had been back in the Cascades several days and this last drive into town hadn't been particularly long, the aches of long travels still complained in his rangy limbs and the opportunity to walk about was plenty welcome! Taking his time, he strolled through the line-up of corrals, green eyes roaming the enclosed beauties. Lovely, lovely, a fine sheen on that one there! Healthy, bright-eyed, and... Quiet appreciation vanishing from his features as he caught glimpse of a field with less-than-healthy occupants, he wandered over to look the situation over. Obvious bloodlines in those exquisite beasts, much like his old stock... Heart sinking with every step closer, disturbed by the very thought that his creatures could have come to the state of the horses before him, he halted at the gate, looking them over critically. Beneath the mud and grime, those... those couldn't be his!! Here? All bones and brambles??
