Hello now, what's this? A lonely-looking little dove, left to wait for what? Apparently not awaiting a meal, as her scrawny condition suggested! Ugh, yet another case of cruelty, of neglect? Perhaps he ought to dump his plans to make his barn known for success in the show ring and excellence in its breeding stock and instead turn his focus to rescue and rehab. A lovely sentiment, but it wasn't likely to get the bills paid. But on the flip side of the issue, a man could make all the money in the world and still lose his soul when his heart became too cold and metallic, like his coins, to step from his path and approach a sad little creature such as this. With evening descending and the ever-present chill of winter deepening into a stifling freeze, the Frenchman, on his way to his vehicle to head home after a meander through the sales grounds, veered his long-legged stride to investigate the forlorn figure. Slowly approaching, addressing the mare softly to let her know of his presence before he got to her, he looked over the fence at the little well-worn lady. "What are you waiting for here, gorgeous? Hmm? A bag of bones like you can't stay out in a cold like this! Someone ditch you, girl?"
