 Almost as if she knew she was beautiful, the mare turned to the stranger at his pleasant voice, ears pitched forward to listen and nose extended to sniff out the visitor. Who was this? And did he have any candy? Well, candy or not, the human had the horse's attention and she stepped toward him as far as her rope would allow.

Rounding the trailer just in time to witness the meeting, the mare's owner grinned a greeting and walked over to rest a hand on the silver beast's shoulder. "Interested in her? She's up for sale."
