Subject: Review of Colin and Brad's show at Villanova

"Whose line is it anyway" Improv takes over the Pavillon

This past Saturday, as part of the Parents Weekend festivities, Villanova was privileged to the humor of two comedians, Brad Sherwood and Colin Mochrie. Both men can be seen on television on ABC's program, "Whose Line is it Anyway."

The basic premise of both the television show and evening, which was sponsored by the Campus Activities Team, was humor through audience interaction and improv games. The popularity of the night was seen in the lines, which formed at the ticket entrance, as well as the "standing room only" sections of the upper level Pavilion once all the seats in the bleachers filled up. According to the Student Development office, the Pavilion was completely sold out with 5,000 tickets sold.

"Brad and Colin were hilarious as usual, it is not surprise they sold out the Pavilion," senior computer engineer Sean T. Brady said.

Some of the games used were a rap based on an audience member's occupation as a painter, a few "mad lib" oriented games, as well as another skit where Mocharie acted out an interview between Sherwood and another audience member who built flight simulators for a living. The large amount of audience interaction, kept everyone's interest at its peak.

Colin Mochrie, a native of Canada, started out in the now famous Toronto's Second City and has worked with the British "Whose Line is it Anyway" for 11 years. Mochrie has also been featured in many British and Canadian television series and films.

Brad Sherwood also has a background in sketch comedy, being a part of series such as, "LA Law" and "The Newz." Most recently he hosted a season of "The Dating Game."

"I think it was a great program for Parents Weekend," senior Maggie Stotler commented. "I know both my parents and myself enjoyed everything. It was a nice change to have a comedy act."
