Liam had never really dated. I mean, you could have called it ‘dating’, but it really wasn’t… The girls he’d went out with had tried to rush things… They had climbed into his lap and were all over him with kissing, hugging, attaching themselves to his arms, and frankly, he hadn’t overly enjoyed it, and he had never known why. It was probably ‘jus ‘cause he’d seen those girls, the same ones, do the exact same stuff to his buddies… and that just wasn’t cool. Aside from all that attachment that the previous girls had layed ‘pon him, he’d been constantly tried to be had… in the way that would strip him of his virginity. I mean, it’s not that our Liam didn’t want to have sex, it’s just… he wasn’t ready for that two dates later, and definitely wasn’t ready for that when he knew the girl was the wrong one. And… well, he was afraid he’d do something wrong with the whole thing... the whole idea just sort of scared him. ( not literally, but y’know. ) So, past a little bit of kissing, Liam Burbank had been nowhere in the touchie-touchie life… and it was actually sort of fine with him. So, you see, Tex and him weren’t all that different, s’far as dating goes… and this sort of occurred to Liam when he thought ‘bout the things that him and Tex had shared thus far. I mean, even after he’d told her he was falling in love with her, she was still… well, Tex. What I mean is that she hadn’t turned into this ugly she-beast who was pouncing on him for the kill. Tex had stayed Tex… and Liam, well… he liked that way better then the ugly she-beast idea. Liam’s lips sort of pulled into one of his signature shy smiles at her words. If she kept talking like that, she’d probably get a pretty decent blush from the boy. “How do you do that?” he murmured, his fingers lingering ‘pon the smooth surface of her cheek, mapping it’s surface mentally. “I mean, how do you always know what I want to hear? I… um… wanted to hear that, with the not-mad thing, and everything.” Liam’s eyes were still gripping her own, not an ounce of tire within the shining pupils and shimmering hazel irises. “I wanted to say… that I’m sorry I just didn’t tell you what David did before he told you… I mean, I should’ve told you that. I feel like… Like, I knew everything about you, and you… well, I couldn’t even tell you that I’d never done that y’know… thing. I guess, well, I just didn’t want you to know… I never relized that I maybe should have told you… like maybe you had wanted to know… or something…” Liam kind of mumbled this, sort of feeling uncomfortable ‘bout having to admit it in his own words… ‘cause, well, it just was an odd topic to discuss like he was discussing it. Maybe… if he had just told her himself, they wouldn’t have had to have gone through that whole thing with Dave... but anyway, Liam just… felt bad for not having said something, ‘cause, well, he didn’t know if losing ( or not ) your virginity was something you talked ‘bout with friends. But anyway… A few metres ‘way from their heads, the fire blazed and crackled in the fireplace, hissing as it sent glowing embers up the chimney. At Tex’s innocent question ‘bout the whole kissing idea, Liam sort of got all bashful and embarrassed and lifted his eyes to glance at the fire, and it’s sparks that were glowing like pin-dot stars. After a moment or two of pondering, he kind of allowed himself to glance back down at her. A healthy glow lit him, but was more obvious ‘pon his scarlet cheeks. “I’m not… y’know, good at the kissing thing… I… I… can’t s’plain it… but, well…” Liam paused, peering deeply into her eyes ‘fore whispering, “Here…” and then leaning forward while gently pulling her face to meet his. His lips sunk to hers softly, almost tentatively – ‘cause he really did believe he wasn’t good at it… Both broad hands of his swept up to gently tangle themselves in her wavy locks, with his thumbs resting softly ‘pon her high cheekbones. After just a few moments, he pulled ‘way… already freaked that he’d gone to far, or screwed it up, or just… not been good enough. “…Sorry.” Dejectedly, he lowered his eyes to her hands, studying them closely, just wondering what would happen next.
