She was sitting on the beach, tears still streaming down her cheeks from her latest conversation with Rick. He could be so sweet at sometimes and other times he could just crush her with a few single words. She sighed softly, the mood setting her thoughts back to better days...

Sitting on the tailgate of his old truck - the same one he had been given the day he turned 16 by his uncle - in the parking lot up the beach, he swung his legs slowly, hands resting on the Corona bottle resting between his legs. He had been there for the better part of the evening, had watched from a distance as she arrived and settled into the sand, and kept on out of curiousity just to be sure it was her...
