Uh, not even close. The newspaper industry's refusal to adapt to the internet in the 1990s and then the decision to give away most of its content for free until just recently - after the public had gotten used to free content - is what's killing the industry.

There have been plagiarists for decades. News aggregation, which is what many bloggers do, doesn't exist without news creation.

Blaming the newspaper death spiral on bloggers is shortsighted and ignorant. Executives who had no clue about the internet and refused to monetize content carry a far bigger share of the blame.
