I like your ranking system and I agree with it on most points... However, I think I would be disappointed to see the current system of Knighting be wholly discarded. I think it may be in our best interests to shorten the length of the training process, however. On the other hand, the issue of Knights selecting Squires due to friendship with those members would be solved if we choose this method. Not that it is a frequent occurrence, but it's only natural to be wary of such things. Also, if this method is in use, we must develop a criteria to select the members of the panel of judges to decide an issue of Knighting. How many members will comprise this panel? Of what rank must they be? Who will choose them?
I think that with this method, higher ranks will be easier to achieve and we will have a lot of members of the rank Knight or above. Now, I'm not saying that is a bad thing, but if we have a lot of Knights and a lot of Nobles, then we may wish to choose councils from among certain ranks. I say this because if Camelot should take off again, then we may end up with very large councils with too much arguing and too many differences of opinion to really get things done if they are comprised of all members of certain ranks. If a High Council should continue as it is now being comprised of the KoRT and all members of the previous rank, then I think that there should be another rank between Knight and KoRT.
The requirement of a new member to be in Camelot for a minimum of two months before being eligible for advancement is good, I think. I also like the idea of having merits and awards for all ranks and not just those of Knight and above. It will require more work on the Roster, but if there are those that are willing to undertake that task, then I'm all for it. I'm learning html now, so I'm hoping that soon I could be of help with the pages. I also think that it might be good to have merits that are based on your activity as a member... Such as being around for games, showing up to meetings, volunteering to perform tasks, and playing an active role in Camelot votes and discussions. Obviously some of that stuff is already covered with our merits, but there is currently no award for just being an active member in general, and those are the members we need badly right now.
Ok, I think that's all of the comments I have for now... =)
