Subject: I don't know if this is right or not- but when I install- I check that it goes to Cdrive/ programs and leave well enough alone if it doesn't do that - then I put it there.

If I'm not mistaken, anything you install will automatically be listed in the "All Programs" section of your start menu, you shouldn't have to actually put it there.
