INT – XANDERS CAR – DAY
Xander is driving Nancy and Andrew back to Buffy’s house as he fills her in on how we got to this point
XANDER
Then after she got back from England she was pretty invisible for a while then a few weeks later, Dawn met RJ – That was a story in itself so we’ll skip straight to the First and his not so nice men
ANDREW
They sucked
XANDER
That they did – because they are the reason I have to re-take my drivers test every six months now.
Nancy is smiling at Xander
ANDREW
Are you gonna throw up?
NANCY
Marry me!
ANDREW
Hello! You’re dating…oh
XANDER
What?!
NANCY

XANDER
I need to pull over
ANDREW
Good because I really have to pee
Andrew jumps out of the car as Xander stares out of the window, Nancy stares at him
XANDER
Nancy…
NANCY
I know. I know it’s only a year since Anya died and I know we’ve only been official for six months but I love you Alexander Harris.
Xander doesn’t say anything
NANCY
Really love you and…you’re so brave and so loyal and there’s nothing about you that I don’t want with me until the day we both die

You don’t have to answer right away – I mean…I know it’s soon. I’m not saying we have to get married soon – not even for years if it has to be that way, but I want it to…
XANDER

(turning to Nancy)

Nancy is welling up as the two of them hug and Andrew jumps back into the car
ANDREW

INT – SEWERS – DAY
Vi hands Tori some food out of a bag
TORI

VI
You can’t stay here – you know that right?
TORI
Where else am I supposed to go?
VI
You could stay at the manor

What if Buffy checks there?

Buffy, Dawn, RJ and Willow are walking through the courtyard with Faith

You don’t have to worry about parents – they’re banned from Graduation, they just get the video now.
FAITH

Vi comes sprinting up to Buffy, out of breath

Xander, Nancy and Andrew are sat at a table in the very empty place
ANDREW

Something tells me it’s not you…
Everyone looks over as a mass of school students march down the centre of the road –
XANDER
Okay, I’m thinking it’s time for the Buff signal
ANDREW
She has a signal?
Xander pulls out his cell phone.
XANDER
Buffy – are you guys by any chance missing most of your students?
BUFFY
Where are you?
XANDER
Espresso pump
BUFFY
We’re at the corner
Faith, Buffy, Willow and Vi come rushing around the corner
FAITH
Damn! You need give out more detention Will
WILLOW
I’ll remember that in future
Buffy steps forward into the crowd. Hand on hips, shaking her head
BUFFY
Aren’t you guys meant to be doing your homework?
VI
Buffy…
BUFFY
I’ve got it
VI
No. Listen – if you see Tori, she’s not the key
BUFFY

WILLOW
What are you talking about?
VI
I…I’m sorry. I found her a few days ago
BUFFY

I’m sorry okay! I…I made my own decision not to tell you – she’s scared Buffy

Everyone’s a little taken back by Buffy’s admission

Not to put you under pressure but we pretty much have twenty seconds until we get tramped to death by the mob

The key is reserving it’s energy for the “big battle”. Tori still has control over herself – she makes her choices but it keeps, I don’t know, waking up just for a little while – That’s why I told you where she was – because it went worse than usual
NANCY
Exactly how long have you know about this?
VI

BUFFY
We’ll talk about this later

Buffy stays still – looking at Vi in shock for a moment

Being a slayer is making choices others can’t.
Buffy is distracted as Kennedy, Caridad, Spike, Tara, Dawn and RJ tumple out of RJ’s van.
KENNEDY

BUFFY
She’s not here
Everyone gets ready for the crowd – but the gang is all pushed to the sidewalk as the mob simply continues walking past them
SPIKE

DAWN
Where are they going?
BUFFY

INT – HIGHSCHOOL – WILLOWS OFFICE – DAY
The room is packed tight with students – even flooding out to the corridor. They part like the seas as Tori walks down the centre of them
TORI
What am I doing here?
Tori shakes before her eyes go green
TORI
I’m here to set you all your last lesson – welcome to the graduation
CUT TO.
INT – BUFFYS HOUSE – DAY
BUFFY
Are you really sure you want to do this?
DAWN
Is it possible?
WILLOW
I think so
DAWN
Then it’s happening
BUFFY
Dawn you’ve seen what it can do to your life – you wanted to go to college and travel
DAWN

BUFFY
I dropped out after two years
DAWN
That’s because Mom died! I’m used to that – I don’t have to worry about that happening. I can and will handle it Buffy – you’ve seen that
FAITH
Brats got a point – she can hold her own

The girl take each others hands before taking a hand of Dawn’s each, circling Willow
WILLOW

Tara passes Willow the scythe
FAITH

EXT – SUMMERS GARDEN – DAY
Buffy is stood on the door step, staring up at the sky as Faith comes out
FAITH
Dawn just broke the stair bannister
BUFFY
Is Xander here?
FAITH
He’s on it
BUFFY
Poor guy must be exhausted – two of the clumsiest super strength girls living in one house
FAITH
You didn’t make a mistake
BUFFY
I know. I just hope she knows what she’s in for
FAITH
Maybe that’s why she done it – because she know’s, because she wants to do it
BUFFY
Why would anyone want this?
FAITH
Not tryin’ to take over B – but I’ve been a slayer for almost six years – I’ve only been out and about for three of them. Let me take over
BUFFY
Take over?
FAITH
Just even for a month. Go and I dunno – make bumpies with random surfers, see the world
BUFFY
Wow. Who drugged you?
FAITH
I’m feeling extra special – take advantage of it
BUFFY
Maybe you’re right – maybe this is the big bang I’m meant to go out with
CUT TO.
INT – SCHOOL – DAY
Tori is now completely glowing green as her minions surround her. Demons join them
TORI
Look at this! You’d think the little girl would try and hide away – instead she’s valedictorian!
Tori tears the file in two
TORI
Like file, like future
CUT TO.
EXT – FOREST – NIGHT
Buffy is walking through the woods alone. She clearly has something on her mind as Dawn’s words about travelling echo through her mind.
She has the slayer bag flung over her shoulder
FAITH (V.O)
You should’ve been there B
KENDRA (V.O)
I am Kendra, the vampire slayer
JOYCE (V.O)
Have you tried not being a slayer
Buffy places the bag on the ground and opens it, pulling out a gas can – she pours it all over the bag and flicks a match at it.
The flames are green, the smoke is shaped like a devil’s smile and a voice enters Buffy’s head
FADE TO BLACK
FAITH (V.O)
Maybe it’s time to move on B
