SPIKE No. ANDREW Why not? SPIKE Here’s why – No. Andrew throws himself down on the chair in a sulk. Buffy walks past him with an arm full of axes, swords and other weapons. BUFFY What are you two fighting about now? SPIKE Andrew’s sulking because I won’t let him move in with me when Xander doesn’t marry Nancy NANCY Hey! XANDER I second that hey! SPIKE Well, it’s hardly like I’m speaking out of term is it? XANDER That’s not the point BUFFY You guys – apocalypse remember? Big painful death scenes NANCY Death scenes? No. No more death scenes BUFFY Relax – Buffy continues through to the next room. XANDER Is it me or is she a little too relaxed? Spike doesn’t answer – he just stares at her through the door as she laughs with Faith. BUFFY For a walk SPIKE Really – because you left with a big bag and came back with nothing except the smell of burning leather Buffy gives Spike a hard look as she stops and unwraps the bandages from her hands SPIKE Vampiric smell remember? Buffy picks up a cross bow and starts shooting at a board at the back of the room. SPIKE You got rid of the bag didn’t you? BUFFY Yes. I did. SPIKE Why? BUFFY I think you already know the answer SPIKE Because it’s been nothing but trouble and is the only link back to the old slayers – the things that haunt you at night and make you think about taking your choice back BUFFY My version had a little less wordplay but that’s pretty much the swing of things SPIKE You want my opinion? BUFFY I don’t know SPIKE I think you made the right choice. Again. You hold this line now Buffy – you’ve proved that with Dawn. BUFFY You know I think I get it SPIKE What’s that? BUFFY Why I feel different about this fight… SPIKE Oh yeah? BUFFY Because this time, it’s not mine – I’m one of you. SPIKE One of us? BUFFY A helper SPIKE Thanks BUFFY I mean that in a good way. For years all I’ve seen is you all following me into battle – dying, getting hurt – but now that I’m in that place, I can see it. None of you are with me for protection. You’re all in it for the fight. (long pause) Our fight. CUT TO. INT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY TORI And we’re going to win it STUDENT FIGHTER What is your instruction master? TORI The girl. Kill anyone but the girl – she’s mine DEMON But master – these are slayers TORI That’s only bad for you then isn’t it. Now that I’m free – Dawn’s just another easy to break, fragile little girl. Cheers and laughter fill the room END OF PART ONE INT – BUFFYS NON-ROOM – DAY Xander is hammering away as Faith walks into the room in a towel. Xander drops his hammer FAITH Relax big guy I’m not here to jump your bones XANDER Going by our last encounter I’m more concerned you’re here to break them FAITH How come you’re not downstairs with the others XANDER I’ve been told in the least morbid way that we need more room to grieve separately in case one of us gets eaten to death FAITH Andrew? XANDER What gave it away? FAITH Just a hunch. You know, I’m not feeling too bad about this one XANDER That’s because you’ve been into the Hellmouth. FAITH So have you XANDER Yeah but I went to a candlelit pool down one of the quiet back roads – you went to the party central FAITH What a party it was XANDER Are you by any chance getting dressed soon? FAITH I’m drip drying XANDER You know – I’ve not had the chance what with the doom and all, to tell you that… (thinks) Well done FAITH For what? Glad I don’t freak you out anymore Faith stands up and flashes Xander very quickly leaving him open jawed and speechless FAITH Not too much anyway Faith walks out of the room FAITH (O.S) By the way, congratulations CUT TO. INT – MAGIC BOX – DAY Willow, Buffy and Tara are in Buffy’s old fighting room BUFFY Wow. I can’t believe this place got sold so quickly WILLOW I know – apparently it’s gonna be some retro coffee bar. BUFFY Espresso pump meets the Bronze? TARA A-a Bronze for grown ups WILLOW Pretty much BUFFY Like anyone would go WILLOW Wanna check out the opening? BUFFY Sure. (looks around) Are you sure it’s here? WILLOW Hang on… Willow feels around the air until a ripple goes through the room – shelves begin to appear on the walls TARA Where did… WILLOW Giles hid all the dark magic books behind a cloak – they’ve been here the whole time just in another dimension here BUFFY You think you’re gonna be able to find what you need? WILLOW I know it’s here. Willow stretches up to a shelf and pulls out a large, old, red book. WILLOW Here we go! She lays the book into Buffy’s hands BUFFY Evil through the ages WILLOW It’s kind of a “Evil is, what evil does” kinda a deal TARA I’ve heard about this, it, um, it’s evil spells against evil spirits and beings BUFFY Is it safe? WILLOW Not by a long shot… (flashes a smile) At least not by an amateur Buffy smiles back and puts the book back in Willow’s hands BUFFY I’m heading down the to highschool – see if there’s been any movement. TARA Are you sure you should go alone? BUFFY I’ll live. CUT TO. INT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Buffy is walking down the corridor alone. The school is completely emptied of anything… BUFFY Wow, it’s not been this dead since Snyder streaked. Possessions a bitch VOICE So is death Buffy turns around slowly and casually with a zest of “really not in the mood for you”. A demon is stood in front of her. His skin is yellow – he’s slim but sharp looking – red eyes and jagged jaws. BUFFY Hello – you’re talking to Miss. Dies a lot here! Speaking as her – I find that killing your kind, it’s a lot more fulfilling. THARKIN DEMON You will die slayer! BUFFY Are we gonna do this or not because I have a hair appointment and… The demon expands it’s jaw and spits out a small ball of venomous gung. Buffy manages to duck it – it hits the wall and burns through The Tharkin charges at her with it’s claws out front and it’s jaw wide open. It latches it’s mouth into Buffy’s shoulder. She let’s out a small scream before tugging away. Her shoulder bleeding badly as she grabs hold of the top of the locker and flips up – smashing her foot into the face of the demon before kicking it through the glass on a window. She dashes over and picks up a sheer of glass – stabbing it into the demon with force, she begins back towards the stairs before the Tharkin leaps to his feet and begins a chase. As she reaches the top of the seemingly never ending stairs – she’s greeted by a cheeky grin from Tori. TORI Howdy. CUT TO. INT – BASEMENT – DAY Dawn smacks the boxing bag off of it’s chain as Faith stares at her FAITH Damn DAWN When did you get here? FAITH Two weeks ago Dawn isn’t impressed – she gives the look FAITH Just now DAWN You ready for it? FAITH I’m always ready for it (long pause) Are you? Dawn gives a look to Faith, A different one to last time. This one’s a ‘caught’ look FAITH Look kid, I know you don’t like me DAWN Within reason FAITH Right, but – I also know that you’re not gonna try and lie to me about being scared. DAWN I’m not FAITH I am. Dawn seems a little startled FAITH So Kennedy and Caridad, Vi and Buffy. Everytime we even fight your basic dentists best friend – you always go in thinkin’ “How much is this gonna blow if it’s the last fight?” She stands and walks to stand next to Dawn FAITH Hell, last year I figured I was gone for sure. I mean – exploded, drained, beaten by an animated rock (off look) Long story…point is, you never stop being scared. I learnt that the hard way DAWN I know FAITH Buffy’s treatin’ this like it’s some huge deal like it’s gonna change your life forever Dawn laughs FAITH It is. Sure the spell ‘might’ be temporary, but it might not – that’s all on you squirt DAWN Choices FAITH It’s the decided – this way, that way or another way DAWN Another way? FAITH Another way There’s a long silence as Faith stretches out her arms DAWN Willow’s spell… it’s… FAITH Easily reversed. Not got a strong hold by a long shot. The fact that you’re not in the chosen line only means that we have no idea if or how long this spell will last. DAWN Right… FAITH Well, second pep talk of the day – I think I’m catchin’ somethin’ being with you Summer’s girls all the time. CUT TO. INT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY BUFFY Tori, that’s not you TORI Isn’t it? BUFFY You know it’s not – Tori, I know you’re in there! TORI I know your organs are all inside you – you wanna take a look? BUFFY Shut up Tori grins and smacks Buffy through a ‘built-in’ wall TORI Manners! Buffy is lying on her back as she looks around to see a half dozen demons surrounding her. BUFFY What have you done with the students? TORI Well…they’re at graduation of course Tori grins as she grabs Buffy by the collar and smacks her in the face again CUT TO. XANDER Because then Dawn can knock her out when she goes to “save” you TARA The key has to choose a host – it has to be a body that’s unable to decide for itself – someone unconscious or comatose KENNEDY Or possessed like Tori was WILLOW Right, so here’s thinking that once it leaves Tori it’ll go to the nearest useable body SPIKE That’s me right? WILLOW Right – except… Willow stops WILLOW I may have just detected a tiny flaw in our plan SPIKE Can’t say I’m sad WILLOW You’re not dead anymore! XANDER Looks like we’ve got a pretty big turn out FAITH These guys are all super strengthed right? XANDER Thank you. I’d actually forgotten that part FAITH Just doing my job ANDREW Holy crap! They’re gonna kick our collective asses DAWN No they won’t (unsure) We can do this…Will, do the speech CUT TO. INT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Buffy is slammed down through a desk by Tori. Suddenly she stops as she senses the others… TORI There’s two in the building…get them. CUT TO. INT – CORRIDOR – DAY Faith and Spike are pacing down the corridor, swords/weapons at the ready. FAITH This place always gave me the wig SPIKE Maybe it’s the whole Graduation thing. Rumour has it you’ve never made it through a whole one FAITH Third time lucky SPIKE Three strikes and you’re out FAITH Could be. Same to you – I mean, how many lives can one guy have? SPIKE Guess we’ll see Spike puts his hand out to stop Faith – he sniffs the air. SPIKE Demons here in 3…2… CUT TO. EXT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Willow nervously walks up to the stage as the others wait at the sidelines. She gives a little wave to the lifeless crowd WILLOW Wow. Big crowd. Erm…Congratulations you all graduated. (long pause) Okay. Bye now. (longer pause) Shoo! Go away! Come on – don’t you have under age drinking to do? FROM SIDE OF STAGE NANCY What is she doing? XANDER Being Willow… ON STAGE WILLOW Okay – don’t you have any parties planned? Go home. You’re done! The students stand in a mexican wave style – removing their gowns EXACTLY the same as in GD.2 WILLOW Crap. CUT TO. INT – CORRIDOR – DAY Spike and Faith go back to back as they have four demons each surrounding them SPIKE Ready to dance? FAITH Like Travolta baby Faith spins directly into a kick as Spike smacks down onto the top of one of their heads SPIKE Come on!!! Yeah! Spike grabs one of them by the shoulders and slams it head first into the wall, creating a large hole. SPIKE He’s still got it! Or not…he gets smacked straight down to the floor CUT TO. INT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Buffy is slowly making her way back to her feet having been tossed behind a desk which Tori soon lifts and hurls out of the way TORI Stop interfering! I just want my body back! BUFFY It’s not yours to take back! It’s my sisters! TORI She’s not your sister! She’s not real! Buffy looks out of the window and sees her sister and her friends fighting the students. BUFFY Let’s go and find out… Buffy grabs Tori by both arms – ready to smash them both out of the window. She sees fresh cuts. Tori grins at her BUFFY What is this? TORI We’ve been fighting BUFFY I moisturise! My skin is not rough enough to… (Realising) Blood of the key Tori begins laughing as Buffy runs off past her. TORI Always thinking with your fists slayer! CUT TO. EXT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY RJ takes a quick punch at a student. Proud of having knocked him out RJ He’s such a jerk Dawn comes to his aid as another pair of students – from the wrestling team, come charging at him. She steps in and smacks them both away DAWN You’re welcome Xander is fighting off with two of the cheerleaders as one of them produces a large knife XANDER Oh crap NANCY AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! She comes running in and tackles the girl the ground and knocking her out. ANDREW Hey I was gonna do that! Kennedy and Vi look up as some of the demons begin spilling out from inside the building. They notice the number swelling VI Dawn! Dawn looks over and sees them. She runs inside after tossing a long wooden fighting stick to Vi DAWN Take over CUT TO. INT – BASEMENT – DAY Buffy reaches the door to the room containing the seal – the door has been removed and the room, which was filled with cement – has begun disappearing as blood (which is giving off a green light) eats away at it. BUFFY Oh god… (thinks) Willow… Buffy slams the door back against the hole and sprints off again. CUT TO. INT – CORRIDOR – DAY Dawn arrives and looks at the two of them – they seem to be managing. DAWN Where’s Buffy? SPIKE She’s not outside? Dawn looks at Spike in loss before sprinting upstairs. Literally seconds later – Buffy appears FAITH B? BUFFY Where’s Dawn? SPIKE (hits a demon) She’s just gone upstairs lookin’ for you Spike snaps the demons neck clean off and tosses his head at another demon Faith and Buffy stare each other BUFFY The Key’s up there SPIKE Go! Faith looks at Spike reluctantly SPIKE I’ll be fine! She follows Buffy. CUT TO. INT – OFFICE – DAY Tori is sat in a large chair as Dawn crashes into the room TORI Hey there pretty thing DAWN Where’s my sister? TORI You mean you don’t wanna hang out? Tori grabs a paper weight and hurls it at Dawns head, knocking her clean out. CUT TO. EXT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Willow is ducking blows as she stops suddenly. She freezes and looks as though she’s listening (think ‘Showtime’) WILLOW Buffy… CUT TO. INT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Buffy and Faith rush into the room – it’s empty. Faith looks behind her – the door to the roof. FAITH Buffy… CUT TO. EXT – ROOF – DAY Dawn is placed down in the centre of a large red circle TORI Just you and me now. One little cut and we’ll be right back where we belong…nowhere. Tori picks up the knife and slams it into her body – green light beams out from everywhere. An explosion of light occurs which throws Faith back against the wall as Buffy follows behind her. BUFFY Dawn! Buffy runs over to a stirring Dawn as the light vanishes. DAWN B-Buffy…did we win? FAITH Don’t count on it Buffy and Dawn look over in fear as Faith elevates – eyes green. FAITH What do you say B? You and me, one on one, for old times sake Faith grabs Dawn and throws her off the roof BUFFY Dawn! Dawn luckily lands on the flag which is suspended out between two buildings – it breaks her fall as she roles to the ground Buffy turns back to Faith BUFFY Faith listen to me FAITH I’m tired of listening. You just ruined my only chance of getting back to me. I guess I’m gonna have to start this whole waste of time all over again! (laughs) You wanna see how pissed that makes me? Faith swings for Buffy who blocks her punch – and so the fight begins END OF PART THREE EXT – HIGHSCHOOL – DAY Willow rushes to Dawn’s side as the others continue fighting. Kennedy has now joined Spike inside the building. WILLOW Dawnie… DAWN It’s got Faith! WILLOW The Key? Dawn looks into Willows eyes before going to speak CUT TO. EXT – ROOF – DAY Buffy and Faith are going at it as Faith kicks Buffy out from underneath and hangs her over the edge FAITH Ready for the… While looking into Buffy’s eyes, Faith reverts back to her self FAITH Buffy… Faith lets go and moves backwards in shock BUFFY It’s okay FAITH It’s still in me… (laughs) Do it Buffy looks confused before realising what Faith is saying BUFFY No! We can win this FAITH Seen evidence of that B? Buffy doesn’t say anything – Faith eyes flash green again. She smacks Buffy flat to the ground before going straight back to Faith FAITH Can’t hold on much longer Faith pulls a knife out of her belt and hands it to Buffy FAITH Buffy… BUFFY No… FAITH Do it! Buffy is shaking – avoiding eye contact. Faiths smacks Buffy down again – this time as herself FAITH Come on Buffy, you’ve got enough reason. I went after your lover, ruined your life – tried to frame you for murder BUFFY Stop… FAITH Beat you up, tortured your Mom… BUFFY I know what you’re doing… FAITH Made your life a living hell, you think I’ve changed? You think I won’t do it all again. Get all hot and naked with Spike… BUFFY No… FAITH Take Dawn away from you? BUFFY NO! A flash of lightning cracks through the sky as Buffy plunges the dagger into Faith. Faith smiles briefly before falling down in Buffy’s arms as the rain begins. BUFFY Faith… FAITH Congratulations…finally grew into those big sister clothes BUFFY (crying) I’m sorry FAITH Man, I should’ve known (breathless) Graduations always get the worst of me Buffy gives a small smile through her tears FAITH Always knew you’d be the death of me B Buffy goes wide eyed as Faiths head rolls back. She lays still in Buffy’s arms. The green light rises from her as Dawn – looking up through the rain, grabs Willows arm. DAWN Now! Willow holds up her hands as Dawn unscrews a bottle. The energy from the key drifts down into it and Willow tosses it into the air – waving her hand and locking behind the pan-dimensional shelving. Dawn and Willow stare back up. They only see Buffy. All the students – as well as Vi, Kennedy and Dawn, buck as coloured mists leave them. Kennedy and Vi look at each other. It’s over. Dawn gives a half smile knowing that her big battle would be her only big battle. EXT – ROOF – DAY Everyone slowly forms around Buffy and Faith as dozens of tiny lights hit into Buffy. She looks up at them all – Andrew and Dawn are crying. Xander is hugging Willow and Spike seems lost for breath and words. Vi and Kennedy stare at Faith – they can’t grasp it. Buffy’s head springs up – she looks at Kennedy, Vi and Dawn confused. Faith held the true line. With her death it’s back to it’s original state. The one slayer. Destined to be. END OF SEASON. AFTER 27 EXCELLENT APPEARANCES - ELIZA DUSHKU MAKES HER FINAL APPEARANCE ON THE SERIES.

It's very like Faith to do something like flash just for shock value...Hope it makes Xander back-out of the wedding ;) Faith is very pep talky tody isn't she..that usually doesn't end well.. What happenedt o the demon that was chasing Buffy before she met up with Tori? Poor Spike but must say kinda surprised they forgot he was alive, and that side of the plan wouldn't work, until now. Were the cuts on Buffy or Tori,wasn't real clear on this. Ok guess they were on Tori because of the seal ;) Cool I like it when faith and Buffy fight...Hang on there's no-one else there with them..not looking good for Faith, unless Willow has something we readers don't know about. Oh crap Faith's death wasn't like I thought it wouldbe. But I like it this way I think..it's harder but I like it.BUffy just committed a sin, killing a human and we all know how Buffy reacts to that. Wow you've wrapper up all those sits turned slayers in a great way! I like that Buffy is the one true slayer again. It seems fitting..but hey doesn't that mean that a little bit of Faith is in Buffy too now? and will Buffy run again or will she battle the inevitable bad feelings she'll get from killing Faith, with everyone by her side? Guess I'll find that out next season. Overall I think this season was the best season you've ever written for anything. Congrats well done. Proud to have been able to read it :D

For as little as I like the Key being evil, having it separated from Dawn at the end is great. Dawn's still there as a good and growing character, like the SITs. It's okay having them revert to potentials. They are potentials again, arent't they? Agreeing with Gemma that the flash worked. Worked for me, at least.
