EXT – GRAVEYARD – NIGHT A vampire is launched into the tree, bursting into dust as it hits the branch GILES (checking watch) Three minutes and…twenty seven seconds KENNEDY Is that good? GILES Well it’s certainly more to the point than Buffy ever was KENNEDY How so? GILES She spent most of her time focusing on puns and whether or not her outfit would be ruined KENNEDY Buffy was a bad slayer? GILES Not bad, just unfocused to begin with CUT TO. INT – SUNNYDALE HIGH SCHOOL – NIGHT Buffy is sat at her desk staring into space. Like nothing around her exists. ROBIN (O.S) Buffy what are you still doing here? BUFFY Same thing as you ROBIN You just came out of a two hours meeting? BUFFY I’m working ROBIN Buffy it’s almost eight O’clock, the students left hours ago BUFFY Eight? Like sundown? ROBIN Yeah, Buffy are you okay? BUFFY I’ll survive. Hopefully ROBIN Is there an apocalypse I missed? BUFFY Ask me again in a few days ROBIN Buffy? BUFFY Okay, Okay I’m leaving Buffy grabs her back and flicks the light off. ROBIN You’re more than welcome to stay but…did you realise you were wearing your pyjamas all day? Buffy looks down completely embarrassed CUT TO. INT – BUFFY’S ROOM – NIGHT Buffy sits up in bed, shocked and sweating. She turns to cuddle Spike. His side of the bed is empty. She frowns to herself and rolls over, eyes wide open as she stares at a picture of her with Dawn, Willow and Tara. Starring Sarah Michelle Gellar Nicholas Brendon Michelle Trachtenberg Tom Lenk Alyson Hannigan as Willow Special Guest Star Anthony Stewart Head Guest Starring Clare Kramer, Kaarina Aufranc, Iyari Limon as Kennedy INT – MAGIC BOX – DAY Willow, Andrew and Xander are all stood around the shop. Willow has a small bowl surrounded by tonnes and tonnes of ingredients and books. ANDREW You think it’ll work? WILLOW One way to find out (pause) Well, one way to find out and live afterwards ANDREW Come on team Willow! Strike one for the good side! WILLOW Shh ANDREW Sorry WILLOW (deep breath) Okay… Willow takes a pinch of pink dust and sprinkles it over the symbol of Glory WILLOW Arise! The blinds begin to shake, as does all the furniture as glasses fall off the shelves. CUT TO. INT – SUNNYDALE HIGH CAFETERIA – DAY Wood pulls Buffy over and holds her under a table as the ground begins to shake. CUT TO. INT – BACK OF MAGIC BOX – DAY Giles swings the door open and holds Kennedy in the doorway. Both stare over at a panicked Xander, Andrew and Willow. Everything calms. KENNEDY Willow? Willow raises her arm and shows her palm at Kennedy WILLOW Back. Kennedy goes flying into Giles, bowling him down as light tears through the air in front of them. A small scroll falls to the ground XANDER Is it me or does Glory look different? GILES It’s not possible XANDER What that glory’s new host is a scroll? GILES (Rolls eyes) We can’t bring her back that way WILLOW Yes we can KENNEDY (rubbing her arm from the fall) What does it say? WILLOW I don’t know yet, but this is it. This is what will bring her back ANDREW Um…all that was for a scroll. Wow what’s it gonna be like when she comes back? Everyone ignores him before looking around at him and each other KENNEDY I don’t get the big…Buffy killed her right, she can kill her again? WILLOW Actually, she sorta caused Buffy’s death, the second one KENNEDY But Buffy killed her first XANDER Right Giles steps up boldly GILES Not completely WILLOW Giles? GILES I think you should sit down (to Andrew) Call Buffy, get her over here. Tell her it’s urgent XANDER G-Man what’s with the big moody? KENNEDY Clean your glasses anymore and they’ll dissolve GILES This is serious WILLOW (worried) Giles… CUT TO. INT – MAGIC BOX – TWENTY MINUTES LATER Buffy walks in looking worried BUFFY Somebody wanna tell me what was with the shake and vac before? Everyone’s looking at her anxiously BUFFY Who died? (serious) Nobody died did they? GILES Buffy sit down XANDER Giles is about to tell a story, one night back in 2001 GILES Xander XANDER Sorry, I mumble when I’m nervous BUFFY Giles what’s going on? GILES Willow’s found the scroll that informs us how to bring Glory back, but we need to know more about her death BUFFY What’s left to know…I killed Glory with a big old hammer, she turned into Ben and he died. Sure I don’t feel saintly over it but things have changed and I see now that I had no other choice than to leave him for dead (pause) Is that what this is about? GILES You didn’t kill Glory BUFFY What? GILES Nor, Buffy, did you kill Ben WILLOW Giles? GILES Because I did. END OF PART ONE INT – MAGIC BOX – DAY BUFFY I don’t understand. Giles you didn’t kill him GILES Yes I did KENNEDY This saved the world right? BUFFY No. Me dying saved the world it was already too late so why did you kill him? GILES (angry) Because if I hadn’t then there’d have been thousands more dead bodies if not millions. You think Glory wouldn’t have found a way to over power the mortality? You think she wouldn’t kill Me, Willow, Dawn all of us the second you were gone? BUFFY That’s not the point, we don’t kill humans KENNEDY Sorry I don’t want to be the one that always disagrees with you but why not? WILLOW Kennedy Kennedy shoots Willow “that” look. She backs down. BUFFY Because it’s wrong KENNEDY Buffy you’re a great slayer, the best in fact but you’re a bad liar BUFFY Excuse me KENNEDY You know you don’t think that anymore BUFFY Yes. Yes I do XANDER She has a point Buffy, what Giles did it saved us all BUFFY (tearful) All? It saved us all…I’m sorry did I dream that I was dead? XANDER That’s not fair! ANDREW Guys, no fighting. Read the sign. BUFFY Fair? XANDER Life’s a bitch Buffy. Sometimes good people die for bad reasons but it happens BUFFY Not at my hands GILES Now that’s not exactly true is it BUFFY What? GILES You see, you were willing to kill once BUFFY No I wasn’t GILES What about Faith and Angel? Everything freezes. Nobody moves. BUFFY That was different WILLOW Guys stop it! KENNEDY Let him speak. If she’s willing to kill a slayer to save her lover but gets angry at Giles for killing some guy to save her sister and friends then I don’t think she has a right to be mad ANDREW You guys aren’t reading the sign! BUFFY What did you say? ANDREW The sign… BUFFY I’m talking to Kennedy KENNEDY It’s true BUFFY You don’t know the first thing about me KENNEDY I don’t need to, to see what’s going on here BUFFY What’s that? WILLOW Uh oh Kennedy don’t answer that one KENNEDY You’re pissed that he could save them but he couldn’t save you The room drowns in silence Giles stares at Buffy who is staring at Kennedy in shock. She knows she’s right. BUFFY Will, can you work that scroll? WILLOW I-I’ll try BUFFY Then I’m going to check on Dawn WILLOW (nervous) Oh, okay I’ll see you at home Buffy takes one more look at all of them before leaving. WILLOW I can’t believe you said that Kennedy walks away from Willow GILES Can you believe me? That I did that, why I did that? WILLOW I get why you did it and hey I’m hardly in a place to judge Giles lets out a sigh of relief WILLOW But that doesn’t excuse the fact that you’ve been lying to us for more than two years Willow grabs the scroll and climbs the stairs to the upper level of the magic box. Andrew looks at both Xander and Giles who are clearly waiting to speak. ANDREW I need to clean the doorbell Andrew scatters off as the two men stand in silence, rocking in their heels, hands in pockets. XANDER You did the right thing. Giles gives Xander an unconvinced half smile GILES You’re sure about that? XANDER Why wouldn’t I be? GILES Because if we’d been swallowed into a hell dimension we’d have gone down together. XANDER Giles… GILES I may have helped that day but Buffy’s right I didn’t save her. Instead, I bought both Tara and Anya lonely deaths (cold) And I won’t be able to save Dawn Xander looks confused, hurt and shocked as Giles walks away slowly CUT TO. INT – SUMMERS HOUSE – DAY Dawn is in the kitchen dancing away like a mad woman as Buffy enters BUFFY What… DAWN Buffy! Dawn knocks a bowl off the side as she tries to turn off the stereo BUFFY I thought you were over your Spice Girl days? DAWN I hurt less when I use energy BUFFY Really? DAWN Uh huh BUFFY Does that include mental energy? DAWN No BUFFY Damn I have a trauma child fifth period DAWN Margo? BUFFY The one and only DAWN I knew she was bad news BUFFY You are you feeling? DAWN Active. You? BUFFY Blah. DAWN What’s up? BUFFY It’s nothing (change the subject) Did Spike come by yet? DAWN I thought he was still in bed BUFFY Dawn he hasn’t been here for two days DAWN Really, I guess that makes sense that I didn’t notice what with me usually being in bed when he gets up. What’s going on? BUFFY We had a fight, it was nothing DAWN About me? BUFFY Don’t worry yourself DAWN What did Giles want? BUFFY (Startled) What, oh just um, a pencil DAWN A pencil. Buffy the guy owns a shop, what’s going on? BUFFY You should…Giles should tell you DAWN No. Tell me now BUFFY Dawn please DAWN He told you about Ben didn’t he? BUFFY You knew? DAWN (Shocked) No…yes, I mean, I knew by looking at you BUFFY We need to get you fixed! CUT TO. EXT – ESPRESSO PUMP – DAY Xander is in line as he’s called over NANCY Xander! XANDER You know we need to find a new place to keep on meeting up NANCY I know, it’s sad (thinks) I have an idea XANDER What’s that? NANCY My place at eight and It’s my birthday in seven months so I won’t take no for an answer Nancy gets back in her car and drives off. Xander has a bemused smirk on his face. CUT TO. INT – SUNNYDALE HIGH – DAY Buffy is looking confused as she bashes the side of her computer ROBIN Trouble? BUFFY Broken ROBIN Maybe it doesn’t like violence BUFFY Sorry the screens gone black but it’s still buzzing at me ROBIN You have it on stand by BUFFY What? ROBIN Move the mouse BUFFY Oh Buffy moves the mouse, the screen saver fades and well you know how it goes ROBIN You learn something-new everyday BUFFY Isn’t that the truth? INT – NORTH HALL – DAY Buffy pulls down the restricted area tape and leads Xander through BUFFY They still haven’t finished clearing everything up XANDER I’d noticed They step over various bits of rubble left over from the earthquake. XANDER Oh god Xander covers his mouth BUFFY Xander? XANDER Bringer arm, still holding a knife Xander takes a closer look, the knife is covered in blood XANDER Anya’s blood BUFFY What? XANDER Has to be Xander snatches the knife from the bringers hand, by now blood has crusted to it, solid. BUFFY There’s something on there Buffy holds back from heaving as she scrapes the blood off and pulls out a fine piece of silver. XANDER Anya’s necklace (smiles) She loved this, wore it all the time BUFFY So keep it XANDER It’s covered in her blood BUFFY Clean it XANDER This might sound sick but I kind of don’t want to BUFFY I understand, when Mom died she had a bag of laundry to do I’ve still never cleaned her clothes XANDER Yeah. It just, it makes me so mad that she was so messed up that they couldn’t even let me see her body BUFFY Xander it wouldn’t have been easier believe me, I doubt you’d have been able to tell it was here. WILLOW First the barrier. WILLOW Mother of silence, Mother of word Refuse my voices but let me be heard Hold back this beast until my will be done Mother of darkness, keeper of keys Lock the beast still, the will belongs to me The room fills with a blinding yellow fog that swirls it’s way around the cage. Buffy swings the scythe against it, it crashes off and swings across the room. Willow hurls a bolt of magic, it bounces off from wall to wall. KENNEDY So it works WILLOW Now for the big stuff Willow throws her head back and places her hands flat on the scroll. The words run up her arms like in ‘Villains’ only this time, as usual, her hair is white. Willow stares at the cage for a moment, light bashes around the shield trying to escape. It eventually forms in a small ball BUFFY Willow what’s happening? KENNEDY Leave her Willow continues, she’s shaking before falling back. Kennedy helps her up WILLOW Did I do it, is she there? Willow looks over WILLOW But…I’m sorry BUFFY (disappointed) It’s okay They begin to walk to the door as the light rages up again, shaping into the form of Glory GLORY What the f-

You have plenty of character development for Kennedy/Willow, Buffy/Giles and for Xander getting over Anya. I don't get why Xander threw the necklace back, unless it was a final closure. Bringing glory back with a WTF is right in character. So, in all, nice talky episode, but WHAT ABOUT DAWN?

I got called away when I was reading it and never finished it lol But i'll review from start. I can definitely picture poor Andrew stressing over the sign LOL. You twisted the story on us again with the glory not returning and having it a scroll. Grr(in a good way. Is there a way to grr while smiling?) Kennedy may be annoying but she was right on the mark about Buffy being annoyed she couldn't be saved. Xander brought tears to my eyes. I don't get why he threw the necklace back..unless it was his way of starting the road of stopping greiveing. Damn kennedy for not leaving. Can I bribe you to get rid of her? And what an ending! Can't wait to see how you write Glory as I can see her saying that line..without the censoring of course. Absolutely loved it..but must also bribe you on bringing Spike back and not following spuffiness ;D
