INT – SUMMERS HOME – DAY
Buffy enters the house and places her keys on the side. She winces as she passes the phone
Buffy looks at it for a moment and then carries on walking through to the living room. She looks over at the desk – the drawers been opened.
Buffy walks over to it and notices that Xanders page has been torn out.
BUFFY
Willow and Dawn have his number…
Buffy runs back to the kitchen and grabs the phone pressing redial – it’s the pager service
BUFFY
Is it possible to find out the last message sent from this number?
Buffy hangs up the phone and runs out of the house

EXT – ALLEY – NIGHT
Yorkshire, England – December 1888
Snow begins to fall as Drusilla stops by the alley
JACK
Excuse me miss could you tell me where to find the bank?
Drusilla ignores him
JACK
Miss?
Jack picks up speed and grabs her round the waist slamming her up against the wall
JACK
It’s not nice to ignore folk
Drusilla looks up at him smiling, she has her game face on
JACK

DRUSILA
I don’t like being rude, spank me for it. Bad little girl all curses and cuts
JACK

SPIKE (O.S)
Nope
Jack turns and spots Spikes standing rather “hello” with his hands on his hips
SPIKE
That’s me!
Spike punches Jack right on the nose and floors him, Jack runs away and turns straight into Elizabeth – he’s still “ready” from Drusilla.
ELIZABETH
Sir please help me! I’m being followed
Jack catches his breath and grins
JACK
S’ok miss
Jack tears at her top and undoes his trousers
ELIZABETH
Sir please don’t! Sir…Stop it!
Elizabeth snaps his arm and kicks him backwards he lands at Spike’s feet – Drusilla looks down at him and hisses – Spike raises a railway Spike and slams it down

INT – XANDERS APARTMENT – DAY
Buffy storms through the door and trails mud all through
ANDREW
Buffy!
NANCY
I just cleaned that floor
ANDREW
Yeah “she” just cleaned that floor
BUFFY
Where’s Xander?
ANDREW
At the bronze with Buffy

Who is you and you’re here so I don’t know
Buffy looks around quickly and dashes off.

INT – BRONZE – DAY
XANDER
So you killed Jack the Ripper?
SPIKE
Pretty much
XANDER
Are you in any way lying?
SPIKE
Well, not entirely no – the slayer didn’t quite move away and have a family before dying in a car accident
XANDER
Did you kill her?
SPIKE
Not exactly

INT – TAVERN – NIGHT
Christmas Day – 1888
Spike and Drusilla meet Elizabeth outside the tavern
ELIZABETH
Nobody found his body yet
SPIKE
Not too many people fancy going in the river during December
ELIZABETH
Why did you message me to be here?
DRUSILA
We’ve got a present for you, to say thank you for helping us
SPIKE
It also says stay out of our way and don’t cross our path’s again
ELIZABETH
I’m thrilled
Spike holds the door open for Elizabeth she walks in cautiously – it’s full of people.
ELIZABETH

Isn’t it just?
Elizabeth turns to Spike then turns back again the entire tavern is full of vampires not a human in sight.
DRUSILA

Spike and Dru close the door’s with a plank as the vampires begin homing in on Elizabeth
SPIKE
Dru darling how do you feel about seeing the world?

XANDER
So what are you gonna do now?
SPIKE
Got me a place – local like, nice I guess
XANDER
You ever gonna tell Buffy you’re back?
SPIKE
Give her a week and I’m sure you’ll tell her

Even if you don’t she’s bound to randomly kick one of my neighbours doors down one day tryin’ a save them
Xander let’s out a little laugh

XANDER

Spike and Xander just nod at each other not knowing what to say – Spike slips Xander a piece of paper

Xander takes Xanders wallet and fills the till.
SPIKE

EXT – BRONZE – NIGHT
Xander walks out as Buffy comes running up to the door
BUFFY
You’re okay
XANDER
I’d noticed. Thank you crazy breathless lady
BUFFY
Someone paged you using my phone and my name
XANDER
Right, yeah um that was me I thought I broke the pager but I didn’t – I used your name so I wouldn’t look like a loser for paging myself
Buffy looks exhausted. They slowly walk off as Xander wraps his arm around Buffy
XANDER
So how was your day?
BUFFY
Meh!
XANDER
Come on it’s Christmas! Anything exciting happen…meet any interesting people?

Christmas Day – 7a.m
Spike is sat with a bottle of beer and a microwave meal in his lap as the letterbox goes.
He trundles over to it and picks up the envelope – tearing it open with one finger.

Spike shakes his head and laughs as he goes to sit back down. He picks up the remote control and switches the TV off to
BLACK
