Buffy flips a vamp onto the floor and stakes it as another vamp runs in, a tall one, a big one – about twenty stone BUFFY Is that Harris Morgan? WOOD Senior last year and…most of this? Yeah. WILLOW She was okay with it, she’s getting more back to herself after the other day BUFFY Speaking of, did you check out Giles – he was all wicked wet and moody when he got in WILLOW I didn’t see him (thinks) I haven’t seen him for days BUFFY Weird Buffy hands Willow one of the objects CUT TO. EXT – WOODS – NIGHT Vi and Dawn walk down the muddy road, to where Giles is standing DAWN Giles… He doesn’t turn around DAWN Are you okay? VI Should we call Buffy? GILES No. VI Okay do you want us to call anyone? GILES Vi, could you please give us a moment alone VI Sure…I’ll go and…ooh pretty trees Dawn slowly approaches Giles, she looks over his shoulder and sees the freshly patted soil DAWN What’s going on? GILES You don’t remember a thing about last night do you? DAWN Only that I was with RJ and then saw Hank at the Bronze with you and… Dawn looks at the heap DAWN Oh god… GILES You remember? But I didn’t do it (looks down) You did DAWN I don’t believe you GILES You have always maintained one thing since you left hospital last month, every day you have trained yourself to be in tune with yourself (pause) You’ve said you accept t hat the key is you and you are it Dawn is shaking, her jaw wide, her eyes locked on the heap GILES What you aren’t doing is using the magic that you’re tuning DAWN I don’t understand GILES The magic is there Dawn, it won’t go away – last night you changed, the same way you did back in the fall. DAWN No. GILES You and the magic are the same Dawn but that doesn’t mean you control or should I say, have self control. (pause) If you don’t learn to use the magic that’s there, to use it for you, for the right thing…then the magic won’t be you, you will be that magic and it will use you to what it wants. DAWN Three years ago…what Glory told Buffy… (pause) The key isn’t evil, it depends on the person using it GILES Like the First Evil said to us last year, evil is inside all of us, you being an extraordinary case – the magic will find any darkness under any layer and it will feed on it for all it can until that’s all that is left DAWN I’ll become evil? (beat) You’re just as lame as the last time I saw you! Andrew now as Xander, as minions approach, Xanders lost a lot of blood, he’s weak ANDREW Go away weird little people! MAN Leave our king! Andrew kicks one of the little people in the shin and runs off, using all his strength to carry Xander Buffy and Spike are bundled by the little men as Glory waves goodbye Buffy looks up and sees Kennedy suspended in a cage on the ceiling, she grabs one of the little men and snatches their carving knife – tossing it with full force and snapping the chain, the cage comes crashing to the ground. Buffy pries the door open as Spike fights off the men, she runs out with her Looking up as she leaves, Glory is stood on a higher platform level (a sticking out rock at the entrance to another cave) laughing BUFFY Spike now! Spike runs out with Buffy and reaches into his pocket Glory’s face drops as he smiles up at her Spike pulls the grenade pin out with his teeth and runs, diving to the floor as the cave explodes Andrew, Xander, Kennedy, Buffy and Spike lay by each other as they watch it go up in flames, Kennedy and Spike are smiling, Buffy isn’t. END OF PART THREE INT – SUMMERS HOME – DAY GILES I think it’s the right thing for me to do DAWN No. Not with everything that’s going on – they’ll point the finger at you GILES Which means it won’t be pointed at either of you or RJ’s family DAWN I’m talking about Glory – they’ll all think that it’s you (beat) If you leave then I’ll tell Buffy everything Giles stares at her, uncertain as the phone begins to ring CUT TO. She’ll be back and she’ll be pissed. ROBIN Do we have a plan? BUFFY Not yet, first things first we need to find Faith and the other slayers GILES (O.S) No need. Giles walks into the centre of the room as Dawn stands in the doorway GILES That was Wesley – their van has been found BUFFY Giles… GILES It was wrapped around a tree about twelve miles down from where you founds the others – two slayers were still inside. When you drop the anvil, yep, replaced makes sense. Buffy's reaction would be horrified. She put Glory in charge of the SITs - fox guarding the henhouse. Big oops by Buffy. Very nice interactions, especially Giles/Dawn and Xander/Andrew. You have Andrew as a much more sympathetic character in this story. So what is Giles about to do that Dawn's afraid of? I know. Wait for the next ep. *sigh*
