I think everything must end in a happy-sad state in order to bring the best out of a situation. For instance, whenever I've been a trip with a group for a week or two it always is a sad separation but the memories make it all good and you forget the sadness of departing. But after living with a group of teens for two months, that gets a little exhausting and makes the separation less sad, and more of a relief. By the end of the two months I'd taken for advantage any of good qualities and friendships I'd made.
Even in death, it is best to strive for a happy relationship and a good ending so that though it is a sad separation it will have good memories.
