Isn't that what the romantics thought? That it is sad that it is gone, but that makes it even more precious. It seems to be that way for a lot of things. If something is only there for a short time it makes it even more precious. Like when someone is diagnosed with some fatal disease, doesn't everyone treasure the time they have left? It is happy and sad. It is strange how those emotions can switch like that. It really is a bittersweet moment. You are happy that they are here, but at the same time sad because they will be gone.
