I agree with that, it seems as though he feels truly sorry for what he has done but not ready to give up the consequences of his actions. In the end of the speech, he says that all may be well. But after all that he says regarding his truly horrible sin, how can he just peel out at the end and say that it might all be ok in the end. It doesnt seem like it lines up to me.
