Paid a desposite of S$1K. and had been payinga monthly installment of S$100 since Jan 2003 till current. Can anyone here advise me how to a stop and break the contract of this ERI ? Do u recommend me to pay finished the installment and then go to CASE? or is it recommended to just call them up and tell them i want to cancel? Date Posted: Mon, Nov 10 2003, 0:26:46 Hi TK Unless you are happy with ERI and want to upgrade, its not worth your while going to see them. Getting back a refund is never easy and especially if the membership has been on for some time. We do have some write up on how to seek a redress in our website under "General advice" or you could email to hcspore03@yahoo.com.sg for more information. It is not effective to call the company on the phone to tell them you want to cancel - no evidence of a cancellation request as nothing is in print. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Tue, Nov 11 2003, 23:48:01 Well Elaine, I'm also victimised by ERI two years ago. I've paid 9k and left with 5k to be paid up. To start off with, you should drop an email at hcspore03@yahoo.com.sg regarding your current situation. Remember to leave your contacts for the administrators compilation. The admisnistrator is currently gathering names for further action soon (perhaps by engaging a lawyer). At the same time, you may want to approach CASE to lodge your complaints; to build up their complaint volume. I'll be calling them tomorrow to fix a meeting to explain my situation. Do let me know if you want to join in. I decided to go to CASE 1st because according to them in the website, they will not take up cases that have been referred to lawyers. Date Posted: Wed, Nov 12 2003, 4:49:09 Dear SCL I have tried CASE too but they could not help as the contract is legally binding. But withthe high volume of complaints and the sheer no. of people wanting to take actions, I do hope that CASE would be able to build a greater case against them. In my case it was LGM. We should all meet first instead of do things in random fashion [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Wed, Nov 12 2003, 9:34:07 Dear Scott, Thank you for the info. By the way, do you still continue your instalment payment to LGM? I thinking of stopping the payment this month as well as the maintenance fee due next month. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Wed, Nov 12 2003, 14:24:48 Hi all, Like i have mentioned CASE is of no help. Can the site owner lead us or provide us with the assistance? and all parties that want to work together get together for a meeting to prepare a plan on how we want to go about settling this case of unfair contract *note that the contract is unfair to us without a exit clause and that even with such a contract drafted to our disadvantage EVEN case cannot help then who is the one to approach? Ministry of trade? [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |

Date Posted: Wed, Nov 12 2003, 13:36:55 Hi We are compiling statistics to indicate the seriousness of the problem hence would help if people email to hcspore indicating the Company name they bought from on the subject line and including in the email details like contract total, contract signed date, amt paid, actions taken and your contact no. in case we need to contact you in a short notice. We are arranging for a session with a lawyer but need some time. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
