] Date Posted: Mon, Nov 10 2003, 0:08:30 it all started during 1998, bought this time share thing, sat the whole presentation for 2hours and another 2 hours to brain wash into buying it.. has no choice part my 2000 dollars as deposit... and have installment the balance 6000. which i pay the 1st installment. finaly i decide to cancel it, call them saying i dun mind giving up my deposit just to cancel it- they mention ok. so i stop payment and did not hear from them any more. till August 2003, this lady call saying i have a balance of 2000 plus with them. and wanted me go settle with them, i ask if i still get my money back she say no guarantee but i want to cancel i must go to sign something. so i went down, so the customer officer with fake smile start asking why i want to cancel, what's the reason, is the timeshare bad.... where the proof of me canceling, i told them i try to book holiday and cant get the days and many other high fees and i keep saying it was cancel during 1998. so i ask can i sign the cancel form or something like that like she mention on the phone. she ask me to wait and ask her manager to speak to me- he put a stack of files and say mr. loy according to our record you have not cancel you membership.... and you still owe us money... wip out his calculator- owing the balance, maintainence fee, memeber fee- total i owe them $12,000 something like that . i was BLUR... and he show me the stack of files of lawyer letters claim money from other people, also he say if you dont pay our legal department will sue you. cos the club is overseas, they will sue you from their country and you will have to pay all legal fee in pound. so you get sue you will have pay in all of $20,000. i was sock and lost of words. so he say either you pay and get sue. you can not leave here unless you give me your pay or get sue. then he ask do you know there another kind holiday club is better than time share?? he pull the notes from the customer officer recorded that why timeshare is not good i mention that eariler.he say since timeshare has high maintainence fee, limited choice, hard to sell... etc. why dont i change to holiday club, no high maintaince fee, lots of choice just like a travel agent, good discount. he offer to write off the $12,000, if i sign up for holiday club. the normal price is like $20,000 and offer me $16,800 and off set my earlier 1998 payment of $2000 balance of $14,000 plus , asking me to deposit $4000 and balance intallment of $10,000 for a year. i was under stress wanted to get out of there, agree the payment of $4000 from my credit card and finaly agree to me go and remind me send them the check every month. after thinking and read up and reports on the paper on scam timeshare and holiday club also looking for help, and i have not pay them for the past 3 months. so 3 days ago i get a letter from them- saying if i dont pay them, they recover what even money i owe them via legal way. You should make a police report for criminal intimidation to extort money from you. Please let them sue you and they will lose everything and you will get your money back. Date Posted: Fri, Nov 14 2003, 4:22:41 Hi, Me too signed that stupid contract with LGM which cost 18K. I was given a free trip to Gold Coast 8 days and 7 nites in Calypso Plaza. I went there to try out their services which was promised to everybody who signed I guess. But it seems more like a free ans easy tour for me and nothing special at all. Now I wrote to them saying I wanted to cancel the agreement and they replied after 2 weeks saying 'NO'. I've stop paying since I came back from that trip and now CASE is handling my problem. Still waiting for their reply now. Hope everyone of us can gather and sue them back using legal way. [ Post a Reply to This Message ] |
