] Date Posted: Sun, Jul 25 2004, 3:57:36 Hi all, I think amongst u guys here, i must be the biggest ass of all. I really hope someone can help me get out of this pile of crap i'm in now. In Jan 04, i was surveyed and made to scratch a coupon by some kids at Faber House near Somerset MRT and to my gf and my surprise, we won a 5 Star 7N stay in Bali! I was overjoyed as we had planned to go to Bali later this year. So we went up and they said i have to sit thru a 90 mins presentation b4 i can get my prize. I gave it a go as we reali wanted the Bali stay. Note that i have never heard such things as Timeshare and the blacklisting of this companies by CASE before the survey. i went thru the usual procedure of having to "turn off" my hp and them not telling me exactly what's the deal until the end. I keep asking but they said its a dream come true for me and just ask me to sit back and find out. As they went thru the presentation, it took more than 90 mins and honestly i was quite interested in the program until i found out the price is 10k and i have to make a deposit of 1k to be a member and enjoy the benefits and pay the rest in installment. I don hav e money but then they bring down the price lower. I was allowed to pay the entire 10k in monthly installments of 277 bucks. I thought abt it and since i bought the salesman presentation, decided to take it and sign the agreement. They even offered me 2 bonus vacations to Gold Coast if i sign up then!! Of coz then, i was more than happy to sign..its GOLD COAST!! Little did i know its a beginning of a nightmare 6 months later. Now i met a new friend who works at ERI and we were conversing when i mentioned abt my membership with ATC. (I still do not know anything abt all this Timeshare and blacklisting. I just keep prompt payment of the installments. To date i have paid more than 1500 bucks.) She told me abt the "problems" ATC is facing and they might just go bust. If they do go bust, i'll lose my money and membership since i haven't paid up 50%. She told me abt all this Timeshare but not the darkside of Timeshare. I was also told abt this thing called "conversion" to other Timeshare companies and that i could convert to ERI from IRN/ATC all the money i've paid to IRN. Of course i will like to convert after hearing all this and since she's a friend, i believed her. And by now i have defaulted 2 months of my installment to IRN. I met up with the sales personnel from ERI and i found out that although they have more expensive memberships, the installments and vacations are much more cheaper than IRN. They also have this attractive "cash rebate" system. I jumped the wagon then. ERI also told me some not so nice thigns about IRN and with them not being stable and all. Little did i know that ERI themselves have been blacklisted and complained by CASE and consumers for a decade. Pot calling the kettle black. Now i think i'm kinda in trouble. IRN called me asking for the payments and i told them i can't carry on paying. I wanted out. But they told me it can't be done over the phone so i was asked to go down personally. ERI did told me beforehand not to go down to IRN and just avoid their calls and cancel the GIRO. They told me if IRN asked why i don't want to continue, say that i don't trust working with them as they're a blacklisted company. Some cheeks!! I went down to Faber Building out of courtesy and met with the Head Of Department. His name is Mr Matthew. He tried to intimidate me with his "hard" talking and finger pointings at me all the time. Apparently i made abig mistake by mentioning the word ERI while conversing with one of the IRN staffs. So Mr Matthew got really pissed off and demanded like a gangster from me the name of the person that defamed his company which according to him have been running a very "clean" business. I played the submissive role. Just saying yes and sorries all the way. He said all stuffs like taking immediate legal action if i don't pay up the due amounts i owed to them and saying that i'm liable to pay all the damages and legal costs. Then it was his turn to attack ERI's credentials and threaten to take action against them. i sought ERI's help and they told me to just ignore everything and refer tghe matter to CASE. Then i decided enough is enough and went home to thoroughly search the internet about all this and am i shocked or wat!! I'm in a scam all the time and PLS!!! I NEED HELP!! What can i do??? It seems that CASE is just a mediator for me. I've paid all those money and i want it all back although my first priority is to terminate my agreement with IRN and stop them from hasseling me. They told me about legal binding and stuffs and i'm binded legally and if i don't pay up, i'm susceptible to legal actions. All threats are flying with finger pointings. At this point in time i feel like punching the guy. I do want to try and continue with ERI as their vacations are cheaper with RCI, a renowned organisations. But i am open to any advices about ERI and will confront them about the tactics they used on me. I NEED HELP PEOPLE! IF ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE, PLS HELP ME! IT SEEMS THAT THIS FORUM DOES NOT REALLY MENTION ANY CONCRETE WAY OUT FOR PEOPLE IN TROUBLE! IF ANYONE IS IN THE SAME DIRE AS ME, WE CAN MEET UP. Date Posted: Thu, Aug 05 2004, 22:45:39 U right there is no concrete way of getting out of timeshare. But you can try getting a lawyer if you feel you have been misled or misrepresnted.
