Hi Harris, Thanks a lot. I'm angry at the audicity of the timeshare companies and their tactics. I'm also perplexed on why the government and The Straits Times are not forthcoming with naming of the timeshare companies involved in Singapore.

By publicizing the companies names, at least many more people will be warned of their tactics. It also strengthen any legal cases against them.

Frankly, I believe that the threats by the timeshare companies to sue is just threats. I do not believe that they will like the publicity. It will affect them, moreover, they are more fearful if we all take collective actions.

Dear Edwin,

Thank you for posting your experience on the web as we have been just invited to attend the so call "Exhibition" this coming Thursday 28th October, 2004. This is the 2nd time the company re-invited us to attend and insisted that it must be attended by both husband and wife.

In fact, when I asked if they are trying to promote to us the "time-sharing" membership. They told me not and even mentioned that in their invitation letter to us. The letter offer a Lucky Draw to win a brand new Toyota Corolla and in addition we will receive up to 7 night's luxury accommodation and an elegant real 4 diamond set watch. This is very tempting to anyone who fall for it.

I just got the gut feeling that it must be a company promoting time sharing membership, otherwise the lady who called me asked not to play her out by not attending.
So, I decided to check the company on the web and bumped into this site.

Thanks alot as it confirmed it is in fact a "time sharing" company. I am definitely not going to attend for sure.

Thank you and best regards,

Albert

Hi Albert
You sure one of the lucky ones not to be conned. This so call winning a prize full of crab. I was almost a victim once with my wife a couple of years back. Thankfully I did not fall for the trap and instead almost yank the hell out of the so called manager whom I was referred to when all else failed to convince me to part with my hard earned money. In order to avoid embarrassment with other potential victims around, they pacified me and rewarded me with a Isetan $40/- voucher. Now I always remember, there is no such thing as a free lunch. Sad to say these so called unscrupulous though legal still exist among the midst. Hope others don't fall into this predicament and be lured into parting with their hard earned money. Thank God this forum exist and thanks to the person who create an awareness through this website forum. Cheers !!!

Hi Harris,
Are you a member for this 'Oriental Travel' timeshare?
We went for the talk recently. Can you tell us what exactly did they offer (if any) after you signed up?

Thanks,
Lin

Hi Sandra, I have just signed up and paid some deposit by credit card, but only because they have included a 7-day "cooling-off period" which is more than the "3-day" under the recently implemented Fair Trading Act.
Unfortunately, I have not known about this forum before signing up. Naturally, I am very eager to find out the latest status of your experience. Did you manage to have your contract cancelled with all the deposit you had paid refunded? Thank you and looking forward to your response.

Hi guys,

This is really good that you are sharing your expereinces. I went to their seminar only two days ago. They convinced me to join them for 35 years Gold Crown service. I was about to pay, when my wife sensed that something is very fishy, as what they told me before I agreed to become member, and what they wrote in the paper for me to sign was different. Hence even after signing that form I refused to pay them and their attitude was very hostile. Now I feel lucky.
