I certainly didn't mean to suggest a direct criticsm of America or Americans. To me this is an interesting discussion about the rights and wrongs of the Death Penalty and the associated problems. Not its implementation in different countries - for what it's worth if it came to a straight referendum on bringing back the death penalty the British Public would certainly vote yes. So I'm certainly not claiming any great British moral superiority.

I quite agree - it is very easy to sling mud at other nations. There's plenty of mud about and not much understanding. But I repeat that was not my intention.
