The text I chose is “Earthquake Science”.
It´s about the research made by some geologists, based on the earthquake that happened in San Francisco, on March 26th 2000. Its effects helped the geologists to figure out how the earth would shake around Seattle during an earthquake. The research even studied the demolition of Seattle´s Kingdome, and its resulting aftershocks. Something that they discovered is the fact that deep earthquakes have only a few aftershocks. One of their future projects is to set off explosives at the surface near Seattle, to study the waves of shock, so they will know which places of the city might suffer the most on a real earthquake.
The exercises were a little more challenging this time (I liked that). I got 75%.
This site is great, because it has a lot of information, and it really helps and builds the vocabulary for the English learner.
