It is all context, grasshopper. Given a three term old, tired government that hadn't had a fresh idea in five years, an effective opposition party would have had this election won in a walk. Barely winning when you should have swept may not be a loss, but it certainly isn't anything to celebrate.

Rationalizing? No. I happen not to believe in the invisible hand of Adam Smith and all of the other voodoo economic theories of the Saskatchewan Party. Had we not been up against such a lot of extremists, I think it might do my party a world of good to spend a term or two in the wilderness. But not if it is going to mean another nine year rape of the province as was the case during the Devine Kleptocracy.

Think about it, young grasshopper. You are a fire-breathing young red meat neo-conservative. Would you prefer an inept right wing government? Or a socialist government?

By the same token, as a social democrat, I prefer an inept social democrat government to a pack of fire-breathing red meat neo-cons.
