Subject: Food Permit

They say they can fine you if you do not have a food permit. This is under provincial jurisdiction and costs a ridiculous $100 a year. My problem is that they won't give me one even if I pay for it. They have such ridiculous cleaning requirements. Washing the containers out and then sanitizing them before filling them was not good enough for them.

Really a food permit for a vending machine should not be required. Unless your machines are dispensing say soup in a cup or something like that.

My machines are very low risk food safety wise so I don't see why the gov't makes such a fuss about it.
