In the third image especially you can clearly discern the stratification of the stone. in the last ( a great close up) the brittle nature of the stone is readily apparent.

To my eye...this stone was worked with an adze rather than mallet and chisel. While the chisel was the prime tool in Shaping. Planning is better executed with the adze.

anything at the site pointing to a possible timeline??
