Hey Piper,

well i think you still have to consider that L&D is a movie and real life is always a bit different than movies are. Like your namesake Piper Perabo said, “i wonder whenever Paulie sleeps” i wonder if such an ideal love can really exist in real life and i wonder how it might be after 5, 10, 15, 20 years…

There’s a time when being in love changes into either a partnership of life or sooner or later ends again. What the movie describes in my eyes is the magic of first love and how easy you can loose the love of your life and turn into average values of society living. And that no matter how much money you have, you can’t buy a love like Paulie and Tori had back, neither a friendship like between Paulie and Mouse.

And that true love means not to step out from one relationship into another one like Tori did. Most people pretend to be / have been in a similar situation like Paulie was, but who of them really would not have run into another relationship again after the breakup? I disagree with the end of L&D, there has to be a better solution but i doubt that there are a lot of people who really understood this true love Paulie was feeling for Tori.

take care,
Stef
