Thanks so much Don, all of that is very helpful.

I think I am going to have to get a bigger tree or make several bottle trees the way things are going!! I keep finding nice coloured glass bottles etc in op shops ( charity stores ) for very reasonable prices ( usually $1 or under..)
I am not worried about what the neighbours think, in fact my tree is right in my front yard where passers by can see it. (Maybe I will start a trend here and other botle trees will begin to appear LOL.) I am a local crazy cat lady anyway, a badge I am proud to wear, so I enjoy being thought of as eccentric or a bit weird. Sure beats being one of the masses who have boring dull gardens with no soul or imagination!!!
And I can tell this will be a work in progress..never ending. As soon as I began assembling it, I felt really happy!!
