Not so sure according to rule ISR5.2.1 (iii) If these athletes were registered which team were they registered with. ISR5.2.1(iii) states the following:

"have been registered with BSF for twelve (12) consecutive months preceding the qualifying deadline for the competition"

Yes I agree that some of our swimmers who swim abroad do do the same but it is different and you know it. And they do so as part of being in college.

These athlets that represented SWIFT may be Bahamiam but their talent was not developed here and they did not come up through our system. These athletes were specifically sought out to help make a team stronger not to help make Bahamian swimming better.

Many clubs take a lot of pride in developing athletes from the very beginning. Clubs and coaches know how difficult it is to produce a standout swimmer. It takes a lot of work, a lot of time and a lot of luck. I just feel it cheapens our system and is a slap in the face of all the hard working clubs that have no choice but to work with what they have. The 11 & 12 year old girl has come out of nowhere and will steal the show for herself and SWIFT at Nationals and then return to wherever it is she came from.

This be situation may or may not be allowed by BSF rules but it sure seems unethical. BSF should not be taking this situation so lightly but maybe they can't help since the BSF council and SWIFT are one.
